Radical Tips for Simplifying Your Life

- Give up television one night a week.
- Give away or donate all clothing you haven't worn in two years.
- Throw out all catalogues and circulars when you bring in the mail.
- Buy six month's worth of postage and an inexpensive postage scale.
- Buy six month's worth of office supplies and paper goods at a discount warehouse store.
- Throw away all unread newspapers more than one week old.
- Throw away all unread magazines more than three weeks old.
- Spend one afternoon a week at work without scheduling meetings or taking phone calls.
Use this time for thinking, planning and other creative ventures.
- Donate half of your extra bedding and towels to a homeless shelter.
Donate all of those travel-sized soaps, shampoos, etc. as well.
- Spend 15 minutes each Tuesday filing papers you've been meaning to file. Don't read the papers while you are filing them!
- Give gift certificates, U.S. savings bonds, shares of stock or donations instead of gifts.
- Set up direct payments for your utilities, mortgage and other monthly bills.
Prepay other vendors (such as spring water delivery, the newspaper, etc.) 3-6 months in advance.
- Hire a wardrobe consultant to help you organize your closet and consolidate and simplify your wardrobe.
- Hire a professional organizer to help you create systems and get organized for good!
